Hooking up audio equipment, what sub woofer and amp should I get?

I want a subwoofer, how many watts should it be and how many watts should the amp be? I need a four channel amp right?

I found a cheap 1000 watt subwoofer but it that to much power? What amp should I get if i was going to run that type of subwoofer along with everything?

   first off always shop around. keep these 2 sites in your favs (extra discounts for members)and great deals on us amps
   on online car stereo found @ 659$ 40 dollars cheaper!!

   if you want something cheap under 100 check out this sub
   MA Audio MA12D4 can find it for 89$
   or something a little better try this MA Audio MA1200XL
   129.99 @
   for either of these subs you would want a mono 2 ohm amp try mtx or ma .your rms on your amp should be 75 to 90% of the sub.
